Since 1958, the Sanlorenzo shipyard has been building high-quality motor yachts in Liguria, Italy. 

Building only a limited number of made-to-measure per year, this boutique firm designs and produces stunning yachts according to the owner’s specific requests. 

History of Sanlorenzo Yachts

Founded in 1958 by Gianfranco Cecchi and Giuliano Pecchia near Florence, Italy, Sanlorenzo Yachts is now one of the world’s most highly regarded yacht manufacturers. 

The shipyard’s headquarters are located in Liguria, and a second division is based in Viareggio, Italy, after being opened in 1972 when Giovanni Jannetti took over the company.  

Milestones

  • 1985 – The company launches the SL57, the house’s first-ever fibreglass vessel. 
  • 1995 – Sanlorenzo changes the superyacht sector forever with the launch of SL100.
  • 1999 – Sanlorenzo moves its operations to Ameglia in Liguria, Italy. The shipyard is then certified UNI EN ISO 14001 to guarantee its production process respects the environment. 
  • 2007 – Sanlorenzo returns to Viareggio to establish a second shipyard. The new shipyard launches the SD92 and the 40Alloy, which were awarded the ShowBoats Design Award and two World Superyacht Awards. 
  • 2010 – Sanlorenzo launches the 46Steel, the first displacement superyacht made of steel 
  • 2011 – Sanlorenzo launches the SL94 and is awarded the Barca dell’Anno (Boat of the Year Award). Sanlorenzo ranks third in the world among shipyards producing yachts over 24m. 
  • 2013 – Launches SL118, the flagship of the fibreglass range of yachts.
  • 2014 – Launches the SD112 model and becomes second in the world of best yacht builders for vessels over 24m. 
  • 2019 – Sanlorenzo Spa is listed on the Milan Stock Exchange.
  • 2020 – Launch of the first SX112.

As in the Alloy series, the 62Steel pays close attention to prioritising the owner’s space. A massive 215 square-metre owner’s apartment is found on the upper deck with stunning 180-degree views. You’ll find a private pool and sunbathing area through the doors and onto the private terrace. 

In addition to the impressive owner’s quarters, another standout feature is the beach club. The 92 square-metre space is excellent for sunbathing, easy water access and fold-out platforms on three sides.
